Types of Extinguishers
Water Extinguisher
Ideal for fires involving wood, paper, fabrics and other similar types of free-burning materials. This high quality extinguisher is British Standard approved and gives an impressive fire-fighting performance.
Water Extinguisher with Additive
Ideal for Class A fires, but also safe if used in close proximity to electrical fires, the Optimax Water with Additive extinguisher is an excellent choice. Because of the enhanced performance of these extinguishers the size of the unit has been reduced without compromising safety, so they're ideal for offices or areas where space may be at a premium.
Carbon Dioxide Extinguisher
Suitable for use on flammable liquids and electrical fires, both models contain a non-toxic, clean gas. When used they leave little residue and so are ideal for offices and workshops because damage to equipment is kept to a minimum.
AFFF Foam Extinguisher
Ideal for multi-risk situations. free-burning materials such as wood and paper as well as flammable liquids can be tackled very effectively.

Powder Extinguisher
Powder extinguishers are extremely versatile; suitable for use on free-burning materials, flammable liquids and flammable gases. Because of the non-conductivity of dry powder they are also ideal for electrical fires.
Wet Chemical (Class F) Extinguishers
An extremely effective extinguisher designed specifically for fires involving cooking oils and fats. The chemical knocks out the flames, cools theh burning oil and seals the surface preventing re-ignition. The extinguisher is easy to use, producing a gentle but highly effective spray which helps prevent hot oil splashing on the user.
Fire Blankets
Fire blankets are made of fire resistant materials. They are particularly useful for smothering small kitchen fires or for wrapping round a person whose clothing is on fire
